PCT Filing Requirements

A Power of Attorney duly Notarized (90 days from filing). (to be used for all subsequent filings for the company).

A Notarized extract from the Commercial Register or from the Memorandum of Association, if the applicant is a company (90 days from filing). (to be used for all subsequent filings for the company).

A Notarized deed of assignment, if the applicant is not the inventor (90 days from filing).

English specification and claims along with the drawings.

Arabic translation of the specification, claims and drawings (90 days from filing).

PCT international publication search and examination reports are preferably submitted with the application.
Information

Priority: The time limit for the PCT national phase entry is 30 months from the earliest date of priority for national phases.

Examination: The Request for examination must be filed once the formal examination has finalized and the invitation for paying substantive examination is issued.

Annuities: Annuities fees must be paid every year calculated from the international filing date for PCT application. It is still possible to pay the annuity within 3 months after the deadline with no penalty and with penalty for late payment fee for each month thereafter.
